- 2Arrive with your IDsBoth partners bring a valid government-issued photo ID (and proof of divorce or annulment if you’ve been married before). We take care of the paperwork.
- 3Your appointmentLicense issued on the spot where included (confidential — no witnesses needed), a short personal ceremony for ceremony packages, and everything signed before you leave.
- 4County filingWe file your signed license with the county for you — nothing for you to mail or submit.
- 5Your certificateYou leave legally married with proof in hand; your official California marriage certificate can be ordered from the county, usually within a few weeks.
What to bring — quick checklist
- Valid government-issued photo ID for both partners
- If previously married: final divorce decree, annulment, or former spouse’s death certificate
- Parents’ full names and their states or countries of birth (they go on the license)
- Already have a license? Bring the original
- Your rings, if you’re exchanging them
